UFC bantamweight Brian Kelleher might be taking on Sean O’Malley next
Brian Kelleher got his form back when he beat Domingo Pilarte at UFC on ESPN: Cannonier vs Gastelum.
Coming off a unanimous decision loss against Ricky Simon, Kelleher put on a dominant show against Pilarte.
Following his win over Pilarte, Kelleher called out up and coming bantamweight star ‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley.
He believed that he earned the right to take on the lanky American.
It now looks like O’Malley has accepted Kelleher’s call out. Judging his Kelleher’s Tweet, we might be having a matchup between the two soon.
Taking to Twitter, Kelleher appeared to mock O’Malley while also implying that ‘Sugar’ had agreed to a fight.
Kelleher’s Tweet read:
“She said yes @SugaSeanMMA.”
Sean O’Malley will be a tough nut to crack
Sean O’Malley is coming off back-to-back victories in the UFC.
He had suffered his first and only loss prior to that, against Marlon Vera. At UFC 260, he knocked out Thomas Almeida with his trademark one-punch finish.
O’Malley then beat newcomer Kris Moutinho at UFC 264 via TKO in the final round of an absolute dog fight.
He will be looking forward to breaking into the top 15 of the bantamweight rankings. Even a win in his next fight might be enough to ensure a top 15 breakthrough.
