Jack Hermansson tried taking the fight to the ground on multiple occasions, but Strickland maintained a tight take-down defense and kept ‘The Joker’ at bay with his jab. Although it was a decent day at the office for Strickland, his performance failed to live up to his expectation and the fight in itself was lacklustre.

Following the fight, Sean immediately spoke out his mind on Twitter in a series of tweets and replies to fans who asked him about his performance. It was clear that he was let down by his performance.

He had the following to say,

“I probably shouldn’t say this and no disrespect to Jack he’s a warrior… but I feel like I didn’t even try this fight.. Like I was treating it like a low level sparring match.. very disappointing… let the pressure get to me… won’t happen again.”

Interestingly enough, this was the first fight time he lost rounds ever since his return to middleweight. But a decent effort against one of the top competition in the division will surely be a confidence booster for him as he will try and make his case for the UFC gold in the coming fights.
