Luke Rockhold pulled out of his fight against Sean Strickland at UFC 268
Luke Rockhold hasn’t competed in over two years, and he was finally set to compete at UFC 268 in November.
The former middleweight champion was set to take on Sean Strickland in the main card of the stacked event.
However, on the 11th of October, Rockhold revealed on an Instagram Live session that he would be withdrawing from the fight due to a herniated disc.
A replacement for the same is not named yet.
Following Rockhold’s withdrawal, Strickland made his opinion known on Instagram. The number 7 ranked middleweight claimed that he sensed his withdrawal coming after he had put Rockhold out with ease during a sparring session.
Here is what Strickland had to say:
“He was never going to make it to the fight lmao… no one is surprised. I sparred him one and almost put him out.. didn’t even spar the second round, walked out of the gym lmao.. I knew this wasn’t happening.”
UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad who is always ready to take up fights in an instance put was willing to step in place of Rockhold.
Muhammad only had bad intentions towards Sean Strickland. Taking to Twitter he wrote:
“If they need someone for Strickland I’m down I hate that piece of trash @danawhite @Mickmaynard2 @seanshelby.”
Muhammad is coming off a unanimous decision win over Demian Maia at UFC 263. The number 9 ranked welterweight has never competed in middleweight before.
