Conor McGregor tried his hand at boxing and it didn’t impress everybody

UFC star Conor McGregor tried his hand at boxing and it didn’t work out great.

The former UFC Featherweight and Lightweight champion went against Floyd Mayweather Jr, and ended up losing the bout

Mayweather Jr might talk a lot but he is one of the greatest boxers ever. It was a surprise that McGregor decided to try out his luck in the ring, but he has never gone back since.

However, the Irishman recently posted a video of him throwing some punches at a training machine.

ESPN shared the video with McGregor also retweeting it, but something just seemed a tad off.

Fans rip into McGregor

Although the Irishman was dropping some nasty bombs on the machine, many fans were quick to criticise the MMA star.

The fight against Mayweather Jr was a money-making scheme, and it wasn’t a surprise that he was beaten.

McGregor’s UFC fights also didn’t go well as he lost to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. The Irishman was then out of action for a long time and only made a return recently.

UFC 246 saw McGregor face Donald Cerrone, and the Irishman beat the Cowboy in 40 seconds.

There has been talk of a match for the Lightweight title after Khabib takes on Tony Ferguson, but fans certainly didn’t enjoy his boxing video:

McGregor and UFC taking time off

The Irishman might be trying to stay in shape but that is something most of the UFC stars are doing at the moment.

Dana White has postponed all UFC fights till UFC 249. However, the UFC president is unsure if that clash will take place on the stipulated April date.

The coronavirus pandemic has affected travel and sporting events around the world, and the UFC has had to pause its functioning for now.

Hopefully, things improve soon and people can get back to their daily routines.
