Jorge Masvidal responds to Gilbert Burns claiming that ‘Gamebred’ turned down a fight against him thrice

Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns have been talking about fighting each other, and it appeared that a potential bout was in the making. Masvidal has even stated that he is willing to travel to Brazil in January to face Burns. Burns, on the other hand, has recently come out with some undesirable news about the potential matchup.

Burns took to Twitter to inform fans about the negotiations and delay on Masvidal’s part. He revealed Masvidal turned him down for UFC 281 and UFC 282 as well. The Brazilian also mocked the validity of the “B” in Masvidal’s BMF belt.

“Just letting everyone know that
@ufc
offered me
@GamebredFighter
3x First time was for Nov 12. He said he needs more time, second time for Dec 10 he said he was going to 🇧🇷 to fight me and now he just said no again! 🤷🏾‍♂️ so I guess the B from his BMF belt doesn’t stand for bad 🤦🏾‍♂️”

Burns’ next opponent is unknown since he will most likely not compete against Masvidal at UFC 283. However, after Neil Magny’s most recent victory, he called Burns out, and the Brazilian promised to challenge him if the Masvidal matchup didn’t happen.

Jorge Masvidal hasn’t fought since losing a decision to Colby Covington in March of this year, his third defeat in a row. It’s also unclear when or against whom he’ll fight after turning down Burns.

Masvidal is facing charges in connection with his attempted assault on Colby Covington in Miami Beach in March. He is charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and criminal mischief on a single count. Masvidal could face up to 15 years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine if convicted.

Jorge Masvidal now has lashed out at the Brazilian for accusations levelled against him. Masvidal addressed Burns’ claim in a video posted to his Instagram on Thursday, taking the opportunity to challenge him to a fight on the same March card where champion Leon Edwards is expected to defend his title in a rematch with Kamaru Usman.

“Sorry I’ve been missing.Your boy has been spreading his words, doing his thing, making sure this country can be as safe as it can be. I love all of you left and right. Midterms (election) are over already, so I can focus on some other things like myself and being selfish, so I’m going to address this little b*tch, who I usually don’t have time for, but I’ll make some time for you today, Gilbert.

“Hunter (Campbell), when you hear this or see this, can you please tell this b*tch I never agreed to November, December or January. I’ve had court cases, I’ve had different things, a bunch of things, and I haven’t been able to decide who I got to fight. Now I got some much better news today, so guess what? If you want to get your ass whooped when Leon Edwards defends his f**king belt in England, I would gladly beat the sh*t out of you, Gilbert.

“If not, shut the fck up, because you are a p*ssy, and you’re not going to do nothing when you see me on the street or when you see me in the cage – and we both know it. You’re going to ask for a picture when you see me in real life and say, It’s all bullsh*t, and it’s just for the pay-per-view.’ So shut the f**k up.”
