UFC 250 sees a major change with Dominick Cruz replacing Jose Aldo to face Bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo

Just days after UFC 249 saw a change in its main event, the same happened to UFC 250 as Dominick Cruz now faces Henry Cejudo.

Cejudo, the UFC Bantamweight champion, was to face Jose Aldo in a huge fight for the title. However, Aldo has now been replaced by former champion Cruz.

Also is also stuck in Brazil due to the coronavirus pandemic, and cannot make it to the 9 May fight.

The location of this clash is yet to be finalised, however, the UFC isn’t taking any chances with the next big event on its calendar.

Cruz wasted no time in calling out Cejudo after the fight was confirmed, and he also went on to say that he would slap the champion’s coach too.

While Cruz is a former Bantamweight champion in the UFC, him coming into UFC 250 is a bit of a shocker.

Not in action for over three years

Cruz has an MMA record of 22 wins and two losses. His last fight was also a loss to Cody Garbrandt and that took place in 2016 at UFC 207.

The American hasn’t fought since, however, he has won the WEC Bantamweight title in the past too.

Cejudo, who is one of the best UFC fighters in the world, has been called out by Cruz in the past.

It is interesting that the UFC decided to bring Cruz into the fight and give him a title shot too. Cejudo has been working out ahead of the fight against Aldo, and Cruz now has a few weeks left to get into shape.

The lack of travel probably played into the hands of Cruz as Dana White seems bent on getting UFC events done.

The UFC president has also promised to hold more events in the coming days.
