Chris Weidman continues rehab after suffering a horrific leg break against Uriah Hall at UFC 261
Weidman suffered a horrific injury against Hall at UFC 261. Just 17 seconds into the first round Weidman’s leg snapped, causing the fight to be stopped. Hall went on to become the first fighter to win a fight without throwing a single strike.
Weidman was immediately stretchered off, needing surgery on his leg. He underwent surgery the next day and has been recovering gradually.
He has been sharing regular updates about his current condition, as he continues rehab.
Elsewhere, top-ranked welterweight Stephen Thompson, spoke about his brother-in-law Weidman’s struggle with surgeries throughout his career.
Explaining how bad he felt for Weidman when he saw him writhing in pain, Wonderboy revealed that Weidman has undergone surgery at least a flabbergasting 25 times.
Thompson then highlighted a few of the All American’s surgeries.
Wonderboy told TMZ Sports:
“I felt so bad for this. I think this was the 25th surgery he’s had. Wrestling his whole life, he’s had two neck surgeries and I don’t know if you know about that. He had two discs taken out. Multiple knee surgeries and now this. And him being 37 years old, it’s just a lot of wear and tear on the body. But he’s in good spirits man!”
