Up and coming UFC prospect Terrance McKinney had a new WWE-esque suggestion to make
The UFC has grown in leaps and bounds over the last 15 years. The advent of Brock Lesnar, Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor brought in a ton of new eyeballs to the sport.
Many a time the promotion has been compared to WWE (professional wrestling) which was once soaring in the 2000s and early 2010s.
WWE, known for its thrilling PPV events, usually starts off a calendar year with the Royal Rumble.
More recently, UFC lightweight Terrance McKinney had a suggestion to make. ‘T-Wrecks’ wanted to see a Royal Rumble for the UFC with the winner getting the title fight.
Taking to Twitter, the up and coming fighter wrote:
“A royal rumble, but for the UFC, winner gets the championship fight let’s go.”
Terrance McKinney made a stunning UFC debut. Taking on Matt Frevola at UFC 253: Adesanya vs Vettori 2, he knocked Frevola out, just 7 seconds into the first round.
He also made his case for winning the debut of the year, quote tweeting UFC’s tweet about the contenders for the same.
“Let’s go,” McKinney wrote.
It is to be noted that McKinney was scheduled to fight Fares Ziam at UFC Fight Night 198 in November 2021. However, the fight was pulled from the card since a member from McKinney’s team tested positive for the coronavirus.
