Jorge Masvidal has a chance of creating some history at UFC 261 as well

UFC 261 sees a huge rematch as Jorge Masvidal takes on Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman.

The pair met at UFC 251 and it was Usman that retained his crown. However, Masvidal had taken this fight on really short-notice and he wasn’t finished either.

Usman played the clinch and stomp game really well, and it will be interesting to see how this clash goes.

There were fears that this wouldn’t happen after Usman defeated Gilbert Burns with ease at UFC 258. However, Usman vs Masvidal 2 is all set for UFC 261 and it should be a quality clash.

The fight might be a month away at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, but it has also created some history of its own.

This event will take place in front of a packed audience as fans will be back in full force in Florida. The UFC had a few fans at Fight Island in the UAE but this is another story.

Reports suggest that the tickets were sold in minutes and this also set the gate record for the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena.

Jorge Masvidal has something to say about this

The main event of UFC 261 sees Masvidal take on Usman and Gamebred had his own message after learning of this gate sale record.

Masvidal is one of the most famous UFC stars on the roster but he is yet to win a division belt. This could be his chance and UFC 261 is stacked with a lot of quality fights.

There are three title fights on the main card and it will be interesting to see if all the champions retain their gold or not.

Masvidal has a chance of creating some personal history by winning his first UFC division belt. However, Usman got the better of his rival once and could do it again too.
