Thiago Santos didn’t have a great fight last time around as he lost to Glover Teixeira
Brazilian UFC star Thiago Santos was extremely upset after his loss to Glover Teixeira in his last fight.
The 36-year-old came into this clash as the #1 ranked Light Heavyweight in the UFC. The winner of this outing would have gotten a crack for the Light Heavyweight title, however, Santos lost to the more experienced Teixeira.
While Teixeira called out Dana White for a title shot, Santos was left to reflect on a lost opportunity. The 36-year-old had lost a title bout against former champion Jon Jones, and now will be further down the pecking order.
Santos posted a heartfelt apology to several parties but he was still thankful for his opportunities:
“I’m so disappointed by myself, I didn’t anything what I have trained, I wasn’t there. I just wanna say sorry to my coaches, my family and everyone who support me. thank you God for everything in my life, I am so blessed, nothing can change my faith.”

The first against Teixeira was his first since losing to Jones and also his first in almost a year. It will be interesting to see what happens next with Santos but there could be a championship clash for Teixeira.
Waiting for the title shot
The 41-year-old Teixeira is on a five-fight win streak and wants the title. However, he would have to wait a bit as Israel Adesanya is taking on the champion, Jan Blachowicz next.
Blachowicz only recently won the vacated title against Dominick Reyes while Adesanya is the undefeated Middleweight champion.
Adesanya is one of the best MMA talents ever and it will be interesting to see how he does in a higher division.
The Kiwi star is coming off an incredible and dominating win over Paulo Costa, who many thought would cause a problem for him.
Teixeira came into his last fight ranked #3 in the Light Heavyweight division, and now seems set for further glory.
