Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor brought the house down at UFC 196

The UFC decided to send fans down memory lane with the UFC 196 fight between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.

This was one of the top fights of the year as Diaz and McGregor brought the house down. This was the first time the pair met and the match saw Diaz return to the Welterweight division.

McGregor and Diaz put on a bloody affair as both fighters tried to get the win. In the end, it was Diaz who picked got the better of his rival after he submitted McGregor.

This was one of the few times that the Irishman had tapped out, and Diaz was more than ecstatic with the win.

Diaz moved to 19-10 in his career and even had some choice words to say at the end of the post-match celebrations.

McGregor gets his win back

The Irishman got his rematch at UFC 202 and got his win over Diaz. McGregor beat the 34-year-old over five rounds and won the fight easily.

Diaz has since had a couple of other fights and is 20-12 in his MMA career. His last clash was against Jorge Masvidal but the lost the inaugural fight for the BMF title.

McGregor, for his part, grew from that fight and beat Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. He was then destroyed by Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 before leaving the promotion for a while.

McGregor’s return at UFC 246 saw him pick up a 40-second win over Donald Cerrone. There has been talk of another fight between the Irishman and Khabib, but that depends on another clash.

Khabib faces Tony Ferguson at UFC 249 and defends his Lightweight title. McGregor should fight the winner of that clash as Dana White has hinted at recently.
