Stephan Bonnar is one of the earliest stars from the UFC but was arrested for DUI back in 2018
Stephan Bonnar is a bit of a legend in the UFC but was arrested for DUI fairly recently.
The American was one of the first stars of the promotion and even fought in the final of the Ultimate Fighter Season 1 Light Heavyweight tournament.
He went up against Forrest Griffin and lost the final. However, the fight was included in the UFC Hall of Fame, and Bonnar was handed a UFC contract as well.
Bonnar had an MMA record of 15 wins and nine losses, and fought some of the best in the business.
The American never won a title during his time in MMA, but he did win the WCR (World Class Revolution) Heavyweight Championship once.
After retiring from the MMA circuit, his last fight took place in 2014, but took part in wrestling too.
The 42-year-old fought in Impact Wrestling but he made the news in 2018 when he was arrested for DUI.
Not the best of times for Bonnar
The 42-year-old was driving a red Cadillac and was arrested by the police in Las Vegas. Reports suggested that the MMA star was booked under three chargers: resisting arrest, unsafe movement of a vehicle and DUI.
Things were made worse for him as he was held on a $22,000 bond for the DUI charge. Bonnar also had to be restrained by other drivers when the police arrived and he was resisting arrest too.
Officers also claimed that they could smell alcohol in Bonnar’s breath and also in the car.
Outside of his UFC fighting career, Bonnar has been an analyst on certain channels, and the 42-year-old will remain as one of the most memorable fighters in the history of the business.
