Tim Elliott was on another level in his fight against Ryan Benoit
UFC Flyweight Tim Elliott produced one of the performances of the night as he just about defeated Ryan Benoit.
Elliott is known for his unorthodox fighting style but he showed off his toughness in the Octagon too. Benoit put on a spirited display and it was a close call as to who won.
However, the fight seemed to be 1-1 coming into the final round. Elliott was trying to do his best and attacked Benoit but midway through the round, he started looking down on his fingers. His right hand seemed to be out of the equation as he couldn’t punch and was seen adjusting his fingers.
Benoit tried to take advantage of this, but Elliott just about stayed in the clash and explained what happened to his fingers after the clash:
“I felt numb in my fingers. I looked down and my two middle fingers were doing a Y from each other.”
It was incredible that he fixed his issues but there was another huge moment for the Flyweight. Benoit had locked in a kneebar but Elliott somehow survived and even turned it around in his favour. However, he wasn’t able to get the submission.

Walking backwards
That wasn’t the only crazy moment from Elliott in the clash. He tried to play some mind games against Benoit by walking backwards at the start of the second round.
The result did shock many as a few suggested that Benoit should have won the clash. Benoit was also upset at the decision but this isn’t the first close call the UFC has had at Fight Island.

Many also questioned the result of Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski while some couldn’t believe how long Jose Aldo vs Petr Yan went on as the Brazilian was being levelled in the final round.
