TJ Dillashaw got the win over Cory Sandhagen but picked up a nasty eye cut during the fight
UFC Vegas 32 had a main event of TJ Dillashaw taking on Cory Sandhagen, and it was quite a ride.
Dillashaw was coming off the back of a suspension and his last fight was a loss to former champion Henry Cejudo.
Sandhagen, for his part, was coming off the back of three wins and the pair put on quite a show.
However, one major talking point in the clash was an eye injury that Dillashaw picked up. This took place in the second round and the cut above the eye was quite deep.
That was not the only problem that Dillashaw faced in the fight as his knee was injured as well. However, he dug deep and was able to get a big win over Sandhagen in the end.
Dillashaw also came out wearing shades during the post fight interview but it seems that he is keen on getting a title shot next.
The eye of Dillashaw might need some time to heal, but it wasn’t the only injury that he spoke about after the fight..
The former Bantamweight Champion, who was stripped of the belt in 2019 for drugs related violations, brought up the injuries he was carrying into the fight.
Dillashaw shared how he couldn’t spar in his training camp before the fight. He also brought up nerve and foot injuries, and also claimed he was limping just days before the fight.
Nevertheless, this was quite a performance from Dillashaw. Some fans were upset that the scorecard was a split decision win for the former champion and called out the judges for giving Dillashaw the win.
