Tony Ferguson just can’t get enough of old foe Khabib Nurmagomedov
It has been over a year since Khabib Nurmagomedov announced his retirement from the sport of MMA. Citing the death of his father and the promise given to his mother, ‘The Eagle’ descended after submitting Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in October 2020.
He is now the owner of EAGLE FC, a mixed martial arts promotion based in Russia. The promotion, recently had its first press conference in the United States (Miami) wherein Khabib introduced a new weight division – 165lbs.
Newly-released UFC fighter Kevin Lee is set to make his debut against Diego Sanchez at the 165lbs division.
Elsewhere, as is customary, Khabib’s old foe Tony Ferguson took to Twitter to call him out for introducing a new weight class. Calling the Dagestani a fathead, ‘El Cucuy’ wrote:
“Pump🎶Pump It Up!” Pretty Sure Ol’ Fathead Got In His Fix For The Good🍮Stuff. Doesn’t He Know That S—t Will Go Straight To His Hips 📈 Fwaah-Nah-Nahhhh So Fat He Had To Make A New Weight Class mack🤦♂️What A🤌Maroon ✌️🤣👎 🎶Go👨🎓Showty🎶 -CSO- 🇺🇸🏆🇲🇽 # BOGO🥇BISH’ Current🚣♂️Mude.”
Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson were scheduled to fight 5 times
Khabib, could have been Tony Ferguson’s greatest rival if only their fights had not been cancelled a mind-boggling 5 times. And Tony, who usually takes a swipe at Khabib via. Twitter from time to time, blaming him for their fight never happening, has once again brought it up on Twitter.
Ferguson’s habit of calling Khabib a fathead dates back to the Tiramisu gate (UFC 209 embedded video showing Khabib and friends eating Tiramisu).
In fact, Khabib missed the weight back in 2017 and their fight had to be cancelled.
