UFC lightweight fighter Tony Ferguson retaliated to Conor McGregor’s mockery of his loss against Michael Chandler
Michael Chandler shocked the world when he knocked out Tony Ferguson cold in the second round of their lightweight bout at UFC 274. This was Ferguson’s fourth consecutive loss in a row, and many have suggested that Tony should either lace his gloves, or reflect upon his past few losses and take some time off.
Following the shocking defeat, words of encouragement and appreciation started pouring towards Tony, along with some jeering and jibing. Conor McGregor was among the first to react to the loss in his own deriding manner. Mcgregor and Tony were managed by the same team, Paradigm Sports up until Tony decided to quit the team. The pair have gone back and forth on several occasions in the past, even resorting to distasteful and insulting remarks.
Conor Mcgregor posted a photoshopped picture of Tony from the Irish Man’s Burger King commercial, comparing Tony’s face to nuggets. Ferguson famously refers to Conor as Mcnuggets, and this was a perfect opportunity for the ‘Notorious’ to launch his attack.
Ferguson replied to the tweet by saying, ‘ Ahhh There’s my bi..h. Next time tag me pu..y. Comin’ after you & ur crew. McNugget stays with you fake, can’t take what not your ya anymore thief. Still got no sauce & no balls McNuggets. I’ll see you & your crew soon comin after your gold leprechaun-Champ aka El Savvy -CSO- 🖕’
Tony Ferguson releases statement following his loss to Michael Chandler
Ferguson has a reputation for being too competitive, and also for not giving props to his opponent when he looses. People may mistake it for being too arrogant, but Ferguson showed today that he can take one to the chin however bitter the pill is to swallow.
He congratulated Chandler over his win, and even referred to him as ‘Champ’. Tony wrote,’ Congratulations to @MikeChandlerMMA On his victory at UFC274.
