Tony Ferguson is set to take on the hard-as-nails Beneil Dariush at UFC 262
UFC 262 is just a few days away. The event is set to take place in front of a full house at the Toyota Center in Houston. It is headlined by the vacant lightweight title fight between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira.
In the co-main event, Tony Ferguson takes on the tough Beneil Dariush. Ferguson who is currently on a two-fight skid, the longest in his glorious MMA career, will be looking forward to getting back to winning ways.
He is coming off a confidence shattering defeat against Charles Oliveira at UFC 256, where he was ragdolled for the entire three rounds, like never before. Previously he had lost to Justin Gaethje at UFC 249, and was knocked out for the first time in his career.
It is a make or break situation for ‘El Cucuy’ as he goes into the fight against Dariush.
In the recent DC & Helwani Show, Daniel Cormier stated that Ferguson was beaten up by Gaethje and Oliveira in his last two fights, like never before. He then went on to reveal that Ferguson would be in dire straits if the same happens against Dariush.
DC said:
“If he gets beat up again by Beneil Dariush. It is do or die, Ariel. He’s in some dangerous, dangerous territory if you are Tony Ferguson.”

DC then continued, saying that, for Ferguson, the Dariush fight is equally as dangerous as the Oliveira fight. He then went on to explain how tough a nut Dariush is, to be cracked.
Dc told Helwani:
“Beneil Dariush, not only is a fantastic grappler with wrestling ability. He not only has tremendous power…but Beneil Dariush has an iron chin. He’s willing to just walk through the fire to get to his opponents.”
Dariush is coming off a split decision victory against Carlos Diego Ferreira at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs Volkov.
