Tony Ferguson says Michael Chandler got “Dana White privilege”

A lot went on between Tony Ferguson and Michael Chandler at the UFC 262 pre-fight press conference

UFC 262 is almost upon us. The event will be taking place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas in front of 17000 fans.

The event is headlined by a cracker of a fight between Michael Chandler and Charles Oliveira. The pair will be fighting it out for the vacant lightweight title.

The co-main event features ‘El Cucuy’ Tony Ferguson taking on the surging Beneil Dariush, in another lightweight bout.

The pre-fight press conference was full of classic ‘Tony Ferguson’ moments. He kept the presser very lively with his timely statements and jokes.

At the presser, when Chandler was talking about how blessed he was to have landed the title shot, Ferguson interrupted pointing out to Chandler that he had dodged him twice. And just when Chandler was denying it, Ferguson came up with another classic line.

This is what Ferguson had to say:

“I’m gonna be real. You got this sh*t [title shot] handed to you. You’ve got Dana White privilege.”

On hearing this, UFC President Dana White burst into peals of laughter, even as Chandler sarcastically said, “Thanks Dana.”

Tony Ferguson might be in the last chance saloon

Ferguson is coming off back-to-back losses going into his fight with Beneil Dariush. Never has Tony ever found himself in such a situation.

However, he still has time to turn things around. But that can only be possible if he sees off the tough Iranian at the Toyota Center.

Another loss will probably send him into oblivion, eventually causing him to lose relevance. Point worthy noting is that Ferguson is already 37 and might probably be in the twilight phase of his career.
