Tony Ferguson is elated after the birth of his second son
Tony Ferguson has had a hard time in the UFC of late. He hasn’t won a single fight since the beginning of 2020.
‘El Cucuy’ had his 12-fight win streak snapped against Justin Gaethje at UFC 249, and was knocked out for the first time in his career that night.
Following his loss against Gaethje, his attempt to get back on track suffered further hits after back-to-back losses against Charles Oliveira and Beneil Dariush at UFC 256 and UFC 262.
Ferguson might be struggling on court, but he sure would be a chuffed man as his wife recently gave birth to a second son.
Taking to Instagram, the former interim lightweight champion announced the birth of his son, with an elaborate ‘daddy’ message. ‘El Cucuy’ promised his son that he would have his back any day.
Ferguson wrote:
“Snap Downs & Dreams” Today My Wife Gave Birth To Another Handsome Hispanic Son. One Day It Will Be Snap Downs & Dreams For Him & His Brother To Run. Angel Anthony, My Son, I Hope You Give Your Best At Whatever You Do & Hope One Day All That Hard Work Makes Those Dreams Come True. I Promise To Be The Best Dad I Can Be & Remember You Can Count On Me- Dad. We Love You Boys, Familia Ferguson- Great Fight Camp Babygirl.”
He then went on to disclose further details about his son:
“You came into this world just like your name our little Angel Anthony Ferguson 5/31/2021 at 1:25pm; weight: 7.79 lbs; length: 19 inches. We love you so much our son!
Last chance saloon for Tony Ferguson
Ferguson has never been in a three-fight skid in his entire career. In fact he had never lost, even two consecutive fights. But now, he finds himself winless in three fights.
‘El Cucuy’ is already out of the top 5 of the lightweight rankings, and now finds himself in a very difficult situation. Another loss might probably even have him considering retirement since he is already 37.
Possible opponents for his next fight might be Rafael dos Anjos, Islam Makhachev, Gregor Gillespie and a few others.
