Teammates Dan Hooker, Israel Adesanya, Kai Kara France and others reacted to the death of Fau Vake
Up and coming MMA fighter Fau Vake passed away after being in critical condition for almost a week. The 25-year old was attacked by 4 unknown men in the early hours of Sunday (17th May) in Auckland.
The attack left him in a coma, and the father of one had been fighting for his life with recovery wishes coming in from various MMA fighters.
Sadly he lost his life two days ago, and tributes and condolences have been pouring in for the deceased talent.
Among the notable ones to pay tribute to the deceased fighter were UFC lightweight Dan Hooker, top-ranked UFC flyweight Kai Kara-France, and middleweight Israel Adesanya.
His City Kicboxing teammate Israel Adesanya took to Instagram posting a story of a conversation between himself and Vake earlier this year, depicting how good a soul he was.
The entire City Kickboxing gym has been shaken up as a result of this, and head coach Eugene Bareman has called for stringent actions to be taken for such ‘coward-punches’.
Fau Vake recently switched to MMA
Fau Vake was initially a kickboxer, just like his teammate Israel Adesanya. He had only recently made a switch to MMA.
He had a record of 2-0 in his amateur MMA career.
It is disheartening to hear of such incidents, especially when it is about someone this young. Vake did what he loved, and may his soul Rest In Peace.
