Conor McGregor tried to land a front kick on Dustin Poirier as the pair faced off following the pre-fight press conference

There is hardly even 48 hours left for one of the biggest fights of the year. Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier will be going head to head in the main event of UFC 264, on the 10th of July.

The Irishman has tried his best to be in his usual ‘Notorious’ self, and it has very well shown over the past couple of weeks. McGregor has taken trash-talking and being the bad guy to the highest level.

Although it has not been up to the mark, like it used to be during the mid-2010s, he sure did say a lot of things trying to get into Poirier’s head.

The pre-fight press conference just concluded and several heats were exchanged between the pair.

They then had their pre-fight presser face-offs. With security guards on high alert, Dana White stood in the middle as a fully suited McGregor and a Tommy Vercetti like Dustin Poirier faced off.

Just when they were about to move away, McGregor threw a front kick that just scraped Poirier’s thigh.

Twitterati were quick to react to McGregor’s failed kick. Several fans compared his kick to Internet sensation Hasbulla Magomedov’s kick during his face off with Abdu Rozik.

Conor McGregor takes it way too far with Dustin Poirier as he continues dragging his wife into the mix

McGregor’s mind games went way too far, as he posted an X-rated tweet aimed at Poirier’s wife Jolie.

The Irishman also claimed that the DM request from his wife was real.

McGregor’s tweet read:

“Your wife wants to see the hair around my d*** and b**** bro. See what that’s like. It’s real the message request mate, no trash talk. Man to man, it’s f***** up! I seen your interview with Mike you think it was fake. It’s not.
