“Makes no sense” – Tyron Woodley believes Israel Adesanya is avoiding Jon Jones after Light Heavyweight move

Israel Adesanya will fight for the Light Heavyweight title soon but he seems to be running from Jon Jones

Former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley is setting up for his next fight after a tough loss to Colby Covington.

That was a bit of a blow to his title dreams and it will be interesting to see who his next fight is against.

While Woodley has been working out a lot he did give his thoughts on a few fights. Woodley shared why Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 3 should happen since it is about the money and was asked about Israel Adesanya too.

The Last Stylebender faces Jan Blachowicz in the Light Heavyweight division as the Kiwi tries to become a two-division champion.

However, Woodley wasn’t impressed with Adesanya and claimed that he was avoiding Jon Jones. Adesanya and Jones have a documented history of hitting out at each other. Jones vacated his Light Heavyweight title and moved up the Heavyweight one as he also looks to become a double champ.

However, Woodley called out Adesanya for his antics regarding the move up:

“I thought he had some business to do in the Middleweight division and he was going to wait.

“The second Jon Jones moved up the Heavyweight, he moved up to 205.”

He was then asked if Adesanya could beat Blachowicz, but the former champion was still stuck about the move up.

“I can’t even think past the fact that he said he was not going to go up to 205 and face Jon Jones. If you the best, if somebody asked me to go fight [Michael] Bisping, I am doing it.

“If you wanna say you are the best, now you going up to fight Jan and you wouldn’t do it to fight Jon, that makes no sense.

“The pay day is way different. If someone talks and they say this and that and then they get an opportunity to go against the greatest of all-time and you wanted to wait two years, I don’t get it.”

No pressure on Jan Blachowicz in title fight against Israel Adesanya

Helen Yee then pressed Woodley to share his prediction for the Adesanya vs Blachowicz title fight. Blachowicz won the vacant belt by defeating Dominick Reyes and this would be his first title defence.

Woodley added that there was no pressure on Jan since everyone was talking about Adesanya moving up and trying to become a double champion.

The former champ wanted Blachowicz to destroy Adesanya. Woodley, however, didn’t want to tell what Adesanya should do but he wasn’t happy with Stylebender calling out Jones and talking “crap” about Bones.
