Tyron Woodley gives his prediction for a fight between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington

Much has been said about who Jorge Masvidal (35-14) and Colby Covington (16-2) could fight next in the UFC.

‘Gamebred’ last fought at UFC 251. There, he lost in a one-sided welterweight bout against Kumaru Usman.

‘Chaos’, on the other, beat Tyron Woodley at UFC Fight Night 178. And now, Woodley says that he would like to see the two former training partners square off next.

Speaking on The Schmo on YouTube earlier this week, Woodley stated that he would like to see Masvidal and Colby Covington go up against each other as TUF coaches.

“I do think if they are doing The Ultimate Fighter, what better two coaches to have than those two?”

The former welterweight champion then gave his prediction for the fight. Like many, he sees Masvidal come out as the victor in this battle.

“I think Masvidal wins that fight. He is real sharp, he knows Colby… I think he is going to relax, I think he is going to let his hands go. Colby knows he cannot strike with Masvidal.”

Now that is one fight you’d really want to see in the welterweight division. Colby is on a hot streak and would fancy Masvidal, despite knowing he could be outboxed.

Masvidal, too, would be looking to bounce back up after a disappointing defeat to Usman last year.

This fight is, of course, not in the works as of now. But it is one that can realistically take place. The Ultimate Fighter is one the reasons UFC has become so big.

With 28 seasons behind it, the latest one is anticipated to air in the summer. And like Woodley says, Masvidal and Covington as coaches would probably be a very, very good idea.
