Tyson Fury ready to fight Francis Ngannou inside the Octagon after running through Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder

Tyson Fury has been expressing his desire to fight Francis Ngannou for quite a long time

Tyson Fury is almost a fortnight away from his trilogy fight against Deontay Wilder. He will be out to settle his rivalry with the ‘Bronze Bomber’ after already having taken a lead.

In December 2018, Fury became the first man to prevent Wilder from winning a fight in almost 40 fights. Wilder had been on an unbelievable 40-fight win streak, prior to facing Fury. The match ended in a split decision draw.

The pair rematched again in February 2020. This time Fury knocked Wilder out for good. Just when it seemed like a trilogy fight wouldn’t happen, an arbitrator ruled that Fury must face Wilder before September 2021.

Since Wilder vs Fury was confirmed for the third time, Fury vs Anthony Joshua which was almost on the verge of confirmation had to be shelved.

However, it now looks like Fury is looking beyond Wilder and Joshua as he plans to dismantle the dangerous UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

Tyson Fury wants a ‘stand-up bang-out’ with Francis Ngannou

TMZ Sports caught up with Fury as he was making his way up in an escalator. Fury had recently trained with former UFC veteran Nick Diaz. On being asked about training with Diaz, Fury said that he had learnt a few about Francis Ngannou from Diaz.

Saying so, Fury expressed his desire to fight Ngannou inside an Octagon with 4-ounce gloves:

“He did tell me that Ngannou can’t do any wrestling anyway, so yeah, we are just looking for a stand-up bang-out. Me and Ngannou in the small gloves, make it happen. As soon as I am done with Wilder and Joshua, I will fight Ngannou in an Octagon, in the four ounce gloves and just punching.”

Ngannou might probably take on the winner of the upcoming interim heavyweight title fight between Derrick Lewis and Ciryl Gane.
