UFC 270: Take a look at the results and also the ones who received the bonus
The first UFC PPV event of 2022 was a big hit and delivered as expected. The packed Honda Center in California saw two title fights go down.
In the co-main event UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno took on Deiveson Figueiredo in a trilogy bout. The close fight went the distance, and it was Figueiredo who emerged victorious (via. unanimous decision) to reclaim the flyweight title. The scoreline in their rivalry now reads 1-1-1 after three fights.
The main event featured heavyweights Francis Ngannou and Ciryl Gane square off. Ngannou, the heavyweight champion was entering his first-ever title defense fight. Gane, the interim champion, was looking to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
After having gotten off to a great start, Gane was caught by surprise by Ngannou’s ground game. ‘The Predator’ brought it to the fore and earned a stunning comeback victory via. unanimous decision.
Michel Pereira and Andre Fialho squared off in a war that saw Pereira win via. decision.
In only the first round of the fight, Said Nurmagomedov dispatched Cody Stamann via. submission.
Michael Morales earned a first round knockout win over Trevin Giles in the fight that kicked off the main card.
Four fighters took home an extra $50,000.
Vanessa Demopoulos, who beat Silvana Gomez Juarez via. first-round submission won the Performance of the Night Bonus. Another fighter who received the POTN bonus was Said Nurmagomedov – for his first-round submission win over Cody Stamann.
The Fight of the Night bonus was handed to Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figueiredo for their out-and-out war.
