Kay Hansen made an impressive UFC debut and earned a lot of praise from Ronda Rousey
Nerves weren’t on show for Kay Hansen on her UFC debut. The 20-year-old was up against Jinh Yu Frey in a Women’s Strawweight fight on the prelim card at UFC Fight Night: Poirier vs Hooker.
Frey is 35 and a former Invicta FC Atomweight Champion, however, it was Hansen who got the win via an armbar.
The action took place in the final minutes of the fight with Frey holding onto her arm for dear life. Hansen was trying to crank it up for the win, and she finally was able to break Frey’s hold.
The former Invicta star tapped out instantly as she didn’t want her arm to break, and Hansen got her first win in impressive fashion.
While she got a lot of praise from the UFC world, a former star also shared her thoughts.
Ronda Rousey is considered as one of the greatest UFC stars of all-time. She might have left the promotion to try out her luck in WWE, but she still follows MMA.
The former UFC Champion congratulated the star but was also impressed by the armbar submission, something that Rousey used a lot during her UFC and WWE days:
“Congratulations. looking forward to seeing more from you! Nice armbar”, the former UFC star tweeted.
Second youngest UFC fighter
Chase Hooper is the youngest UFC fighter on the roster but Hansen is now the second youngest. The UFC also tweeted this out something that the female fighter acknowledged.
This certainly was an impressive debut for the youngster. She not only got a bonus for Performance of the Night but also showed off immense respect for her rival.

Frey was also making her UFC debut in this fight, but it seems the talking point is all around 20-year-old Hansen.
