Islam Makhachev and ‘RDA’ Rafael dos Anjos have been feuding over the last couple of weeks
Islam Makhachev earned a 4th round submission victory over Thiago Moises at the recently concluded UFC Vegas 31.
Headlining the first-ever UFC event, Makhachev was at his elemental best against the Brazilian, as he brought up his 8th consecutive victory in the UFC.
Following his win, Makhachev called out Rafael dos Anjos, Michael Chandler and Tony Ferguson. In fact, except Chandler, both RDA and Ferguson are ranked below the Russian now.
Makhachev’s rivalry with RDA has intensified now, since both the lightweights have been going back and forth on Twitter, of late.
Elsewhere, Makhachev’s training partner and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s cousin Usman Nurmagomedov gave his opinion on who Makhachev should be fighting next, in an interview with the Schmo.
Although Usman first mentioned Beneil Dariush’s name, he went on to say that a fight against Rafael dos Anjos would be the one to make, at the moment.
Usman told the Schmo:
“I don’t know, maybe Dariush…I want him to fight with RDA [Rafael dos Anjos] because it is a very good fight.”
Usman Nurmagomedov takes on Manny Muro this weekend
Usman Nurmagomedov will be taking on Manny Muro in a lightweight contest in the main card of the highly-anticipated Bellator 263.
Usman is currently 12-0 in his professional MMA career. Under the guidance of his cousin Khabib Nurmagomedov, the Dagestani will be looking forward to continuing his winning momentum.
This is Usman’s second fight in Bellator. He is coming off a unanimous decision win over Mike Hamel.
