Valentina Shevchenko just added the 6th ruby to her women’s flyweight title belt
Valentina Shevchenko is undoubtedly the best women’s flyweight there is.
The Kyrgyzstani-Peruvian has been unstoppable throughout the course of her career, except while facing the consensus ‘GOAT’ Amanda Nunes.
Shevchenko recently beat Lauren Murphy via. TKO at UFC 266 to defend her flyweight title for the 6th successive time.
She had won the title back at UFC 231 in December 2018, after beating Joanna Jędrzejczyk via. unanimous decision.
More recently, Shevchenko took to Instagram to flaunt the 6th ruby added to her belt. Posing with her belt and the ruby, the women’s flyweight champ wrote:
“6th Ruby is added!”
Bruised featuring Valentina Shevchenko to release in a fortnight
Valentina Shevchenko will feature in the movie Bruised which is set to release on the 24th of November, 2021 on Netflix.
The film marks Shevchenko’s first major role in a movie, and also Halle Berry’s directorial debut. Berry is also the protagonist.
Shevchenko’s character will play the main rival to Berry’s.
As a part of the same, Berry was at the ceremonial weigh-ins (UFC 268) and was also present at the Madison Square Garden during UFC 268.
She handed out the belts to Kamaru Usman and Rose Namajunas after they successfully defended their titles.
As for Shevchenko’s next fight, there have been a lot of talks about a bout against Amanda Nunes. A trilogy fight.
