Valentina Shevchenko has revealed how Julianna Pena can beat Amanda Nunes in their upcoming fight at UFC 265.
Amanda Nunes has just steamrolled anyone she has faced in the octagon. The UFC always try their best to match her up with a tough opponent, but she hardly breaks a sweat against anyone she comes up against.
One such attempt by the UFC was to match her up with Megan Anderson (at the recently concluded UFC 259) who is 6ft tall.
The Australian possessed one-punch knockout power, and despite going into the fight as the massive underdog, some believed she could cause an upset.
However, as soon as the fight began, Anderson was rocked and eventually succumbed to a submission defeat in just two minutes into the first round.
Now, Amanda Nunes is set to defend her bantamweight title in her next fight against number 6 ranked Julianna Pena at UFC 265, later this year.
Valentina Shevchenko who defends her flyweight title against Jessica Andrade tomorrow, spoke to the Schmo about Pena’s chances of defeating Nunes.
Shevchenko had just one piece of advice for Pena; she said:
“I think it’s gonna be a great fight between two very strong girls. I can suggest for Julianna Pena being herself and doing her game what she’s doing every time. So the best she can do, is be herself.”
Like Amanda Nunes, Valentina Shevchenko has hardly been unfazed by her opponents. Her only two losses in the UFC have been against Nunes.
She lost the first one via. unanimous decision. However, she came back strongly in the next one, losing via. a narrow split decision.
Since both the fighters have been poleaxing any opponent coming their way, a trilogy fight between the two makes complete sense, and the talks of the same have been very much prevalent in recent times.
But before that both the women have got a job left – beating Andrade and Pena respectively.
