Nate Diaz might fight on top-ranked welterweight contender Vicente Luque next
Vicente Luque has been on an absolute tear in recent times. He has demolished each and every opponent thrown at him.
On a four-fight winning streak currently, the American-born Brazilian has steadily climbed up the rungs of the welterweight ladder.
Probably a win or two might hand him a title shot. The latest development is that, Luque might be facing ‘West Coast Gangster’ Nate Diaz next.
The pair have been engaging in respectful callouts ever since Luque mentioned Diaz’s name following his (Luque’s) win over Michael Chiesa at UFC 265.
Luque also expressed his desire to fight Diaz.
Diaz too echoed his willingness. More recently ‘The Stockton Slugger’ was ready to bring the heat in December this year, confirming the same on Twitter.
Replying to this, Luque stated that he was up for it:
“I’m ready for war! Bring the Diaz Army and let’s do this.”
Nate Diaz is coming off an entertaining contest against Leon Edwards
Vicente Luque’s last opponent was Michael Chiesa. The fight took place on the 7th of August, 2021 at UFC 265.
Luque hardly needed 4 minutes to beat the seasoned Chiesa via. a first-round submission.
Nate Diaz, on the other hand, is coming off an entertaining contest against Leon Edwards at UFC 263.
A fight that saw Edwards dominate to the entirety, suddenly saw itself turn head-over-heels after Diaz caught Edwards with a slap and a strong left hook, in the very last minute.
Had there been a minute extra, Diaz would have won the fight.
