Victoria Leonardo lost to Melissa Gatto at UFC 265 after suffering a broken arm during the fight

Coming off a loss against Manon Fiorot, Victoria Leonardo stepped into the Octagon at the Toyota Center (UFC 265 prelims), with many a hope.

Her quest to get back to winning ways ended, after suffering a broken arm during the course of the fight.

Leonardo’s arm was broken, and the suspecting Octagon doctor confirmed the same after a quick check.

It was Leonardo’s ulna that was broken, and the exact time she suffered the injury is still unknown.

Despite, Leonardo’s requests of letting her continue, the fight was waved off, and a TKO win due to a doctor stoppage, was awarded to Gatto.

With that defeat, Leonardo slipped to her second-successive defeat, while Gatto capped off an impressive UFC debut.

Leonardo is yet to win a fight in the UFC, after coming in through Dana White’s Contender Series in November 2020.

As for Gatto, she is yet to be defeated in her MMA career. Her MMA record currently stands at 7 wins, 0 losses and 2 draws.

Second straight arm break for Victoria Leonardo

It was dejection for Leonardo as she suffered yet another arm break. This is the second straight fight she has suffered an arm break.

Earlier this year, at UFC on ESPN: Chiesa vs Magny, she had succumbed to a TKO loss against another debutant Manon Fiorot.

She was slapped with a six-month medical suspension following the fight, after suffering a forearm break.
