Mike Perry made the news recently as he brought in his girlfriend as his cornerwoman and didn’t use a coach
UFC Welterweight star Belal Muhammad also had his take on the entire Mike Perry incident.
Muhammad recently won his clash against Lyman Good at UFC: Blaydes vs Volkov but he is also one of the funniest characters on social media.
He decided to chime in on Perry and his girlfriend from the last UFC event. Perry decided not to come to the fight with a coach or a cornerman. Instead, he brought in his girlfriend Latory Gonzalez and she even had a role to play in the fight.
She came in after one of the rounds and put on ice packs for her boyfriend. While many UFC stars have joked that their better halves now want to be part of the Octagon experience, Muhammad joked that Perry’s last coach had to deal with another kind of issue.
The boxer in question is Levan Shonia and he attacked his trainer in a few years back. There was no apparent reason why he twice attacked his trainer, and the referee had to intervene.
Perry wasn’t the favourite for his fight against Mickey Gall, but he was impressive in the outing.
While he got the win and had an incredible rant against the IRS in the post-fight interview, Perry did highlight he was looking for a new team.
Perry also moved up to 14 wins and six losses in his MMA career. He too, like Muhammad, fights in the Welterweight division and it will be interesting to see when Platinum is back in action.
Perry is one of the most entertaining characters in the UFC and he is 1-0 with his girlfriend in his corner.
His next fight will garner a lot of attention, especially regarding who is in his corner.
