Brian Kelleher used the music of WWE legend Stone Cold Steve Austin before he got a win in his latest UFC bout
UFC Bantamweight star Brian Kelleher got an impressive win over Ray Rodriguez at the latest Fight Night event.
While Kelleher also got a Performance of the Night bonus thanks to his Guillotine choke on his rival, there was another moment that caught the attention of many.
The American decided to use the music of a top WWE star before he came out to fight. Kelleher chose the music of Stone Cold Steve Austin, and he even explained why he did so.
Stone Cold is one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time and his music is iconic. Most wrestling fans will remember the glass shattering intro, and it certainly was an interesting choice of music.
Kelleher claimed that Austin was his favourite and there will be millions who will back him up on that.
The Bantamweight star was supposed to fight Ricky Simon but Simon’s cornerman tested positive for Covid-19 and the UFC needed a replacement fighter.
Up stepped Kevin Natividad but he pulled out on the day of the fight and Rodriguez stepped. While Rodriguez wasn’t expected to get the win, since he came on short-notice, credit must be given to him for stepping up.
Nevertheless, Kelleher made short work of his rival and got the win in the first minute of the first round.
The American now holds a record of 22 wins and 11 losses in his MA career. The 34-year-old is a former Ring of Combat champion and has won the Performance of the Night bonus twice prior to this clash.
He also got the Fight of the Night honours in his clash against Damian Stasiak, which he won too.
