Dan Hooker picked up some facial injuries in the loss to Dustin Poirier
Dan Hooker vs Dustin Poirier was one of the fights of the year. The two UFC Lightweights went at it for five rounds, and it was the Diamond that got the win in the end.
Poirier and Hooker certainly traded a lot of blows too and the Kiwi star came off with several injuries. He got cuts and bruises all over his face and received several stitches too.
While Hooker is currently in self-isolation as part of the Covid-19 safety measures in New Zealand, he seems to have found a timepass.
The Kiwi star showed off a video where he decided to remove some stitches from his eyelid. He didn’t have a proper cutter for all this but was happy to bring out a toenail clipper to get the job done.

UFC fighters do have to deal with several such injuries. However, Hooker using toenail clippers just a week after his fight to remove stitches is something else.
Ready for the big table
Justin Gaethje, the UFC Interim Lightweight Champion, predicted that Hooker was get “merked” by Poirier.
However, the interim Champ was impressed by the Hangman and claimed Hooker could sit at the big table now.
Hooker was impressive in the first two rounds against Poirier, but the Diamond’s experience shone through in the end.
It will be interesting to see if Poirier gets a shot at the title in the future. As for Hooker, the Kiwi star added that he was ready for another fight before the end of the year.
The Kiwi already faced Paul Felder earlier in 2020 and got an impressive win. The Hangman is keen on getting a title shot in the future but needs more big wins under his belt to achieve that.
