Dan Ige was beat up by Calvin Kattar at UFC Fight Island

The main event at the latest UFC event saw Calvin Kattar face off against Dan Ige in a Featherweight clash.

However, unlike some of the other fights on the card, this wasn’t a close contest. Kattar easily won the clash after having dominated Ige over five rounds. Ige did have some decent hits early on, but the 28-year-old had no answers for Kattar in the final two rounds.

Ige was also hit in the face several times by Kattar and the damage was seen even a couple of days after the event.

The American posted a video on Instagram of him travelling in the airport with Kattar. While the pair seem to be getting along just fine after their battle, Ige might have trouble seeing for a bit.

One eye was completely close due to the area being swollen while the other eye was just open a little. UFC stars have to deal with some tough injuries in the Octagon and they might be the toughest sportspersons in the world.

This isn’t the first time such injuries have taken place, but it doesn’t seem to be all that serious for Ige.

Fight Island keeps it coming

Ige was magnanimous in defeat and knew that Kattar was the better fighter on the night. The 28-year-old also said he was happy to try out his skills against a top opponent and understood that he still has to do a lot of work.

Fight Island has already held two events and a third one is this weekend. The big one was UFC 251 and that saw three title fights on the main card.

Jorge Masvidal vs Kamaru Usman was the biggest fight on the card and it was Usman who kept the belt from his rival.
