Giga Chikadze brought out a brilliant head kick to get a win over Jamey Simmons

Georgian UFC star Giga Chikadze continued to impress after a great win over Jamey Simmons at Fight Night 182.

The 32-year-old came into the fight as the favourite and made that count. Chikadze also used some brilliant kicks to get the win and used a lot of fighting IQ.

It all came into fruition in the first round itself. Chikadze landed a hard sounding body kick and his opponent lowered his guard.

That allowed Chikadze to target Simmons’ head and the sound of the kick felt like a bat hitting a ball. Simmons was down right after the huge kick and Chikadze went in for the kill as the referee stopped the fight.

The sound of the kick was sickening, and that could have knocked anyone out in the UFC.

Rising up the rankings

The 32-year-old has been on fire since making his move to the UFC. This was Chikadze’s fourth straight win in the promotion and he is undefeated in his last seven outings.

Chikadze is yet to be ranked in the UFC but this win should change things. The 32-year-old is one of several Georgians making their name in the UFC, and he is one of the top Featherweights in the promotion.

It will be interesting to see who his next fight could be. Chikadze has also taken up fights on short-notice and seen opponents get replaced too.

While the title isn’t in his sights for now, since he isn’t close to the top rankings, that should change in a couple of fights more.

Chikadze is in the form of his life and he seems set for a great few years next in the UFC.
