(Watch) Gregor Gillespie responds to Conor McGregor’s claims of being the best fisherman

Conor McGregor started a weird beef with Gregor Gillespie over who the best fisherman is

Gregor Gillespie fought for the first time in two years and put on a great show at UFC Vegas 26.

The American took on Carlos Diego Ferreira and got back on the winning streak. Gillespie has lost his last fight, and that was his only loss in his MMA career.

The Fisherman as Gillespie is called, celebrated by bringing up his fishing skills. Apart from calling himself the best wrestler, he also believed he was the best fisherman.

This seemed to strike a nerve of many UFC stars. Khabib Nurmagomedov brought up his good friend, Islam Makhachev, and how he wanted to fight someone of quality.

Bryce Mitchell also threw his name into the hat but the big one that came searching for Gillespie was Conor McGregor.

The Irishman seemed to take offence to all this and brought up some recent pictures of him fishing. This was after the loss to Dustin Poirier and the pictures were taken off the coast of Abu Dhabi when McGregor was on his yacht.

McGregor also posted an edited photo of him holding a couple of fishes rather than the two UFC titles at one point in his career.

Gregor Gillespie and Conor McGregor to battle for the UFC Fishing championship?

This might have been a bit of fun and games from McGregor but Gillespie also responded to this shout out.

He was speaking after the fight and claimed that he could have a fish off with McGregor. Gillespie also upped the stakes by claiming that if he were to win, he wanted a shot at McGregor.

However, Gillespie was confident in his abilities and confirmed that McGregor was not the better fisherman in all this.

This is one of the more crazier feuds that has cropped up in the UFC but it would be hilarious if they did a fishing championship belt.

McGregor has been asking for his own belt while there is also the BMF title that Jorge Masvidal has.
