Kamaru Usman seems to be avoiding Daniel Cormier

Kamaru Usman was speaking after the recent UFC fights and was asked about spending time with Daniel Cormier.

Cormier is a former UFC Heavyweight champion but recently retired from the sport. DC will go down as one of the greatest ever but his last fight didn’t go as planned.

The former champion lost to Stipe Miocic and was unable to get the better of his rival. This was the third DC vs Miocic clash and it was Miocic that not only defeated his long-time rival but also kept hold of the Heavyweight crown.

Usman was asked about not meeting up with Cormier anymore. However, the Nigerian Nightmare had a hilarious answer as to why they didn’t meet much:

“DC, he feels like, I don’t have time for him anymore. That’s not true. I got some time when I am not hanging out with Championship friends.”

Michael Bisping recently spoke with Helen Yee and the Schmo and the UFC legend revealed that DC was unlikely to make a comeback.

The former champion had taken himself off the USADA testing pool and he needed to be in it for six months if he wanted to fight.

On the other hand, Usman is enjoying his time as the Welterweight champion. The champion last defeated long-time rival Jorge Masvidal in a tough clash and is up against Gilbert Burns next.

The pair are training partners and it will be interesting to see how this clash goes. Marty, as Usman is called, isn’t always given the credit he deserves for being the champion.

However, if he defeated Burns convincingly, that should lay to rest some questions that UFC fans have about him.
