Khabib Nurmagomedov is a huge football fan and his knowledge of the game certainly caught out Manel Kape
Khabib Nurmagomedov might not be fighting much these days but the football fan is certainly keeping in shape.
He is back in the United States and could be in attendance to watch Islam Makhachev in action. Khabib has spoken highly about his training partner and believes he could be a future champion, something their coach, Javier Mendez also thinks.
However, Khabib was seen in a video shot by Mendez during training in their AKA gym. He got into a little squabble with fellow UFC star Manel Kape as the pair spoke about football.
The 15-5 star seemed to be caught out by Khabib who asked him several questions regarding who won the Champions League.
The Champions Leagues is the biggest European club competition and Khabib wanted to know who won in 2005.
That was Liverpool’s win, their fifth in the history of the tournament, and Kape couldn’t answer that. Khabib then showed off some incredible knowledge about the tournament as he rattled off all the winners till 2020.
He was so confident in his statement that he asked the viewers to cross check on Google and he was right.
The UFC Lightweight Champion might be retired but he has a lot of skills on the pitch too. He joked with Kape that the rising UFC star could learn something from him on the pitch.
Kape was glad that Khabib taught him how to fight but he too wanted to show off his skills on the pitch. Khabib claimed that Kape needed to brush up his knowledge of football and it will be interesting to see if the pair meet on the pitch.
The Russian is enjoying his life after UFC retirement and has attended several big Champions League games over the past few weeks.
He was at the Nou Camp to watch Barcelona lose 4-1 to Paris Saint-Germain and even ended up with a couple of jerseys from top PSG stars.
Erling Haaland also sent Khabib a signed jersey and it seems Khabib is collecting several of these kits.
The Russian has always spoken about how great football as a sport is, and he does have some skills on the football pitch too.
