Ariane Lipski was impressive in her win over Luana Carolina at UFC Fight Island
Two Brazilians clashed in a Women’s Flyweight fight at UFC Fight Night 172. While the main event was for the vacant Flyweight title, Luana Carolina and Ariane Lipski took centre stage in the second fight of the main card.
Both Brazilians have been impressive in recently but it was the Violence Queen, Lipski, who got the win.
The pair were locked in with their legs entangled but somehow, Lipski was able to transition this into a kneebar.
While Carolina didn’t seem to be in a lot of trouble initially, Lipski cranked up the knee and bent it in gruesome fashion.
Carolina had to submit quickly but her screams of pain were audible throughout the Flash Forum. It isn’t new for a fighter to shout out during submissions. However, this was extremely loud given that fans aren’t allowed inside the Octagon.
While Lipski was happy with the win, Carolina needed lengthy attention. However, she was able to sit on a stool while the results were made official.
ALL HAIL THE QUEEN! 👑

Lipski marches on
The 26-year-old is one of the rising stars in the UFC and had lost her first two fights in the promotion. Those came against Joanne Calderwood and Molly McCann. However, she has two wins on the spin and it will be interesting to see if the Brazilian is in championship talks.
Lipski is a former KSW Flyweight Champion and defended her title twice before coming to the UFC. The 26-year-old now holds a career record of 13 wins and five losses. Valentina Shevchenko is the current Women’s Flyweight Champion, and she already has a few contenders looking to take away the title.
