Watch Nate Diaz get into a brawl outside a nightclub in New York
Nate Diaz fought his last contracted UFC fight at UFC 279 against Tony Ferguson and won the fight by submission. Launching his own fight promotion, competing inside the boxing ring and grappling tournaments are some of the ventures that he intends to endeavor in following his exit from the world’s premier MMA organization. However, Nate Diaz does not need a regulated setup to throw down. Most recently, he was spotted outside a nightclub swinging wildly with a drunk civilian.
In a video that has surfaced on the internet, Diaz can be seen punching the aggressor and teammate Nicholas Maximov backed him up. Diaz dragged the assaulter to the ground before both parties parted ways.
Earlier that same week, Diaz got into a heated exchange with Conor McGregor’s teammate, Dillon Danis. The Stockton native slapped Danis’ teammate who kept poking jabs at the former UFC contender.
Diaz was called out by YouTuber-turned-pugilist Jake Paul following his spectacular victory over Anderson Silva. Their entourages got into a backstage scuffle at the event, adding to the list of the brawling adventures of Diaz brothers.
Justin Gaethje and Nate Diaz haven’t been on the best of terms, often taking subliminal digs at each other. But Gaethje understands the star power that Diaz possesses and has given him the necessary props in that regard. The former interim UFC lightweight champion Justin has advised Nate Diaz to forego a return to the UFC and instead focus on making money elsewhere.
Diaz, 37, had been trying to leave the UFC for months after spending 15 years competing in the company but was unable to secure a fight. Fans accused the UFC of betraying the veteran by pairing him with rising star Khamzat Chimaev for his final fight, but Chimaev went on to miss weight and was pulled from the fight. The teams also got into a backstage scuffle according to several reports. Diaz finished his UFC career on a high note, submitting Tony Ferguson and entering free agency waters.
The UFC legend has been backed to cash in on a lucrative payday against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul now that he is free to pursue other opportunities. Gaethje told ESPN about Diaz’s future:
“He better not ever come back. He better go make money somewhere else. There’s plenty of money to be made for Nate Diaz outside of the UFC. He can be his own boss and that’s what he should do.”
