Tony Ferguson decided to ‘chill’ as his UFC title fight against Justin Gaethje comes closer

It is safe to say that Tony Ferguson might be one of the most unorthodox UFC stars ever.

El Cucuy is known for his crazy training methods and also fighting technique. That is what makes him dangerous in the Octagon, and he has been preparing hard for his next fight.

That is to take place tentatively on 9 May, however, he will be up against Justin Gaethje and not Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The original fight was set for 18 April but that got cancelled due to the coronavirus. That has allowed Ferguson more time to prepare, and he decided to do something a little different.

Normally, Ferguson shares crazy videos of him training but this time, he decided to ‘chill’ by playing some golf.

The UFC Lightweight star wasn’t exerting himself all that much, and it was great seeing him relax and not be on fight mode all the time.

This could be one of the calmest routines we have seen from Ferguson since his title fight against Khabib was announced.

Ferguson also made the headlines on 18 April as he decided to go ahead with his weight cut despite no fight being in place.

That got a lot of people talking and some suggested that this was a great move from Ferguson. The UFC star is known to play a lot of mind-games too and it will be interesting to see how he does against Gaethje.

El Cucuy is on a 12-match winning streak and he has the chance to pick up the interim UFC Lightweight title.

That might not be Khabib’s belt that Ferguson has desired for a while. Hopefully, the match does take place as many other UFC events have been cancelled by Dana White recently.
