Dana White recently confirmed that the Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson fight will go ahead at UFC 249, and their training is something to look at.
The UFC president postponed three events but added that UFC 249 will go ahead with a possible venue change due to the coronavirus.
Fans won’t be allowed in the arena as a safety measure and the two main fighters from the card have been training hard over the weeks.
Khabib has mostly posted videos from his gym but Ferguson has tried different things.
The American shared a clipping of him running on some tyres. Ferguson had one fight against Khabib cancelled when he picked up an injury after tripping on some wires, and he seems to be risking injury again.
Instead of trying some grapples or using punching bags, Ferguson was seen lifting some equipment and attacking it as a cat does to a toy.
The American also had time to suplex the box before somersaulting over it and then tackling it to the ground.
Many fans were freaked out about the video and did not want this fight to be called off.
Khabib vs Ferguson has been set up four times in the past. However, the fight has been called off for some reason or another.
UFC 249 is the biggest event of the year so far and Ferguson needs to stay clear of any injuries.
His training needs to be a little dialled down too and hopefully, the American can avoid such risky moves in the near future.
The coronavirus outbreak has ensured that the next three UFC events don’t take place. However, most fans would love to see Khabib vs Ferguson.
That match has all the ingredients to be the fight of the year. Khabib and Ferguson have had their say about the fight. Now it’s up to the MMA Gods to ensure they stay safe and the UFC is in a position to hold the clash.
