UFC Fight Island will host its first event on 12 July with three title clashes on the card
The UFC shared several clips of what Fight Island is looking like ahead of UFC 251.
Dana White shocked the world when he spoke about the creation of Fight Island during the coronavirus pandemic.
The UFC was shut for a few weeks as the virus spread across the world. However, White decided to work quickly and create Fight Island to host international fighters if they couldn’t come to the United States.
Fight Island will host several UFC cards and there were a lot of rumours of where the location would be. Some suggested a proper island far away from the US, but the UFC decided to set up the venue at a known location.
The UAE has hosted several UFC cards over the years, and Abu Dhabi was selected as the location of Fight Island.
The Yas Islands, a part of Abu Dhabi which features several attractions, is home to Fight Island.
White had shared a picture of Fight Island a while back, and the UFC also uploaded a clipping of all the work being doing there.
Octagon by the beach
The UFC facility is spread across the island with the Flash Forum being the first aspect of the video. Loads of workers are seen setting up the premises as roads are being constructed and other safety locations are also being put up.

One interesting aspect of this video was seeing an Octagon being set up by the Yas Island beach. While fights are expected to take place at the Flash Forum, the UFC Octagon by the beach is going to be a talking point.
Having fights on the beach would have been something incredible, and would have given Fight Island another USP.
However, the temperatures in the UAE during this time are incredibly high, even if the fights were to take place in the cooler evenings.
Fight Island seems ready to go and hopefully, we get some incredible matches over the next few weeks.
