Israel Adesanya is the favourite against Yoel Romero at UFC 248
Veteran MMA star Yoel Romero goes as the underdog in the Middleweight Championship bout at UFC 248 against Israel Adesanya.
The champion, Adesanya, is yet to lose a bout in his MMA career while Romero has lost his previous two fights.
Romero is 12 years older than Adesanya and the pair have fought nearly the same number of bouts, however, the challenger has won several Olympic medals before getting into MMA.
Although Adesanya has been trash-talking a lot and recently suggested that Romero didn’t deserve the fight, the Cuban provided a stark warning for the champion.
Romero, in a menacing tone, provided one of the scariest promos which can also be considered as inspirational.
The Cuban spoke about Muhammad Ali also losing to an underdog, despite being the best in the ring:
“Muhammad [Ali] had the best defence in the heavyweight [division].
“The best moves in the heavyweight [division]. But, shorter man, dirty boxing. He beat him one time.”
Romero then took off his shades and provided an inspirational message, though in a scary tone:
“Everything is possible in your life, when you believe. When you believe, everything is possible.
“You have two hands, like me. Everything is possible. Go. Go, and take it. Whatever you want to do.”

Fans fret for Adesanya
Although the Nigerian champion has been making the right noises ahead of the clash, he cannot be overconfident.
The UFC, any combat sport for that matter, is unpredictable and the Cuban could spring a surprise at UFC 248.
Romero is a wily character and will provide a real challenge to the champion. Adesanya declared that the Cuban is a dangerous fighter, and many fans were concerned for the champion ahead of UFC 248.
