Wayne Rooney was present to support his fellow Liverpudlians at UFC London
UFC London was a spectacular event and it was made even bigger with some huge stars in the crowd.
One of them was former Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney. The Englishman, who hails from Liverpool, is currently managing Derby County in the Championship.
Rooney is one of the greatest Englishmen to ever play football but seemed to enjoy his time at UFC London.
Rooney was pictured alongside fellow Liverpudlian Darren Till at the event. Till, who is still under UFC contract, wasn’t fighting on the night, but even he was enjoying his time in the arena.
Rooney also posted his thoughts on the event, which had an incredible nine finishes and each fighter getting the finish was also handed a $50,000 bonus.
Rooney and Till might have had fun in the seats, but there was more to come for the footballer.
The UFC had another couple of Liverpudlians to showcase at the event. Molly McCann and Paddy Pimblett also put in brilliant performances at the show.
The pair also won $50,000 each for their finishes, and McCann’s was something special as she used a spinning back elbow on Luana Carolina.
Rooney visited the pair backstage and it was great seeing the trio exchange pleasantries.
It is safe to say that UFC London was a huge hit for the promotion, and it will be interesting to see if they continue hosting more events outside of the USA.
The Covid-19 pandemic certainly cut short plans to host events outside the USA. However, UFC London was the perfect event to showcase how big the promotion is outside of North America.
