The last time Nate Diaz stepped inside the Octagon, it was a fight against another UFC gangster
Nate Diaz is set to return to action this weekend at UFC 263 at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
‘The Stockton Slugger’ is set to take on Leon Edwards in a 5 round non-title fight. This will be the first time the UFC is going ahead with a non-title fight that is for 5 rounds. The reason? None other than the very presence of Nate Diaz.
Known for his very tough and never say die attitude, Diaz has been a part of the UFC since 2007. The Ultimate Fighter 5 winner has been missing from the UFC for quite a while.
So, when did Nate Diaz last fight?
The last time Diaz stepped inside the Octagon, it was at UFC 244 on the 2nd of November 2019. He took on ‘East Coast Gangster’ Jorge Masvidal for the BMF title (Baddest M*****f***** Title).
The match was a 5 rounder with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson chosen as the special guest to hand the belt to the winner.
Unfortunately, Nate couldn’t get his hands on the belt as he ended up losing in the 3 round via. TKO. The TKO actually came via. a doctor stoppage after Diaz was hurt badly (a cut above the eye) and cage-side doctor Nitin K. Sethi ruled that Diaz wouldn’t be able to continue in such a condition.
The fight was stopped and Masvidal became the first ever holder of the symbolic BMF title.
Since then, Diaz hasn’t stepped inside the Octagon, and will finally be making his return this week.
