Ben Askren faces Jake Paul in a boxing match soon and the MMA star seems to be winning the social media bout
Ben Askren taking on Jake Paul is one of the biggest talking points in the fighting world right now. Paul had been keen on fighting Dillon Danis and Conor McGregor after his win over Nate Robinson.
However, Askren initially accepted the call out before saying the fight was off. It is on again, now, and Funky has been taking shots at the YouTuber.
He posted one update claiming that Paul had an STD. Askren even used a great quote from Muhammad Ali in all this and has continued his war of words with the YouTuber.
This time, Askren brought in his wife, Amy, into all this. The pair got married in 2010 but Amy believes Paul is a little creepy.
Askren could be seen working out in his video but the real story is his constant jibes at his rival.
Can Jake Paul actually knock out Ben Askren?
The prediction for this boxing match could be a difficult one to make. Askren should be the favourite but he is a wrestler and hasn’t fought a lot in recent years. Further, he has no boxing experience and it will be interesting to see how he does in the ring.
Paul, for his part, is 2-0 in his professional boxing career. He has been training for boxing extensively and has the slight advantage in all this. However, he has never been in a fight with a professional MMA artist in the past and he could be taken to task.
Paul is also taking some help in dealing with Askren’s mind games. He enlisted the help of Jorge Masvidal ahead of the fight. For those not in the know, Masvidal handed Askren his first professional MMA loss and Funky was never the same again.
He also recorded the fastest knockout in UFC history and it will be interesting to see how this fight could go.
