Khamzat Chimaev has been struggling after Covid-19 but Ali Abdelaziz posted a positive health update
Things are looking brighter for Khamzat Chimaev as the Swedish star continues his rehabilitation from Covid-19.
The undefeated UFC star was expected to fight Leon Edwards but the fight got cancelled. Both stars caught the Covid-19 virus but Khamzat was affected more seriously than his rival.
The Swede was flown to the USA as Dana White helped with his treatment. Khamzat then scared the world by posting some news about him coughing up blood.
The Swede went on to suggest that he had retired from MMA. However, White rubbished those claims and went on to say that this was an emotional outburst from Chimaev.
The 26-year-old has been trying to work out and regain his fitness, however, he still seems to be a little away from where he was.
Ali Abdelaziz, who manages some of the top stars in the UFC, posted an update on the Swede. Khamzat and Abdelaziz were on a video call and the agent went on to say that the “Wolf” was “doing good.”
When will Khamzat Chimaev return and who will he fight next?
Those two questions are big what ifs and there is no sure answer regarding those.
Khamzat would only be allowed to fight if he is 100%. Thankfully, the UFC doesn’t seem to be pushing him and the Swede is recovering well.
As far as who he fights next in the UFC, that won’t be Edwards. Rocky is set to fight Belal Muhammad this weekend and it seems he has left Khamzat in the dust.
That still opens the door for another top fight for the Swede. Khamzat tagged Neil Magny in one of his Instagram posts and it will be interesting to see if the fight takes place.
Magny had called Khamzat out before the Edwards clash and this could be a great fight for all parties.
Khamzat is still one of the rising stars in the UFC. However, Khamzat has been out of action for a while and it will be interesting to see how he does once he returns.
