Geoff Neal was in hospital for a week with a health condition and claimed he almost died
UFC star Geoff Neal posted an update on his health and confirmed he was in hospital for a week.
The 29-year-old Welterweight is 13-2 in his MMA career and was on a seven-fight win streak with his last win coming over Mike Perry in 2019.
However, Neal hadn’t been in the news for a while and was expected to fight Neil Magny on 29 August.
Neal had to withdraw from this clash due to his health condition, and Robbie Lawler took up his place. The 29-year-old posted a lengthy update on social media and spoke about being hooked up to a dialysis machine before turning 30.
However, the UFC star was just happy to be back home and asked everyone to take care of their body. Neal further claimed this health issue came out of the blue but he was happy to be back home:
This news came as a bit of a shock to many UFC stars across the world. Many posted supportive messages to Neal and wanted him to come back stronger than ever:
Welterweight rival and No.1 contender, Gilbert Burns, also wished Neal a quick recovery:
Dan Ige also wished his “brother” well on Instagram while many UFC fans shared their support for the 29-year-old too.
Missing out on a fight is tough for any MMA artist, especially if it is due to an injury, but Neal can be considered a little lucky that he was able to deal with his health condition and return hope.
The 29-year-old was in excellent form before he had to be hospitalised, but he needs to take it easy before thinking of a return.
We wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully, get to see him at his best sooner rather than later.
